BEWARE! Written by neo_80 , on 09-03-2007 14:44 Anyone thinking of selecting Lunarpages for their business needs BEWARE! Let me detail my experience with them so far: I have a mobile information website which uses a mysql database. Yesterday they took down my website without giving any notice (ok, it may be there in the TOS, but during the pre-sales chat, I explicitly stated all my details and requirements and they said everything is within limits). The reason was that my website was using too much resources. Initially I thought it was ok and even sympathised with their point, since my website just underwent a revamp so i had given my data entry and developer ppl the ftp and database access. I thought probably this was the reason Then I contacted support and asked for more specific details regarding the resource usage. They responded after 7 hours! I even contacted them via phone. Was put on hold for half an hour. Finally i was told that a technician would look into the matter. Now again its 10 hours since I have received any response from them so far. Now you may be thinking that this is an isolated incident, but it is not so. Sometime back I was on one of their other servers(zane), it was down for 1 week!!! I requested them to move me to a new server (they duly did so and thats probably the only good point so far). Then on this new server they changed its DNS IP, so I had goto re-register with my registrar. And now this! Not only all this (when things were working) my website also used to load very slowly and sometimes even FTP access was denied. As explained above, along with bad service they also have very bad support. Even though I am still waiting for their response, I am seriously thinking of moving to some other host now.
