 Phone Number: 1-888-748-3526
Type of Plans Offered: Shared and Reseller
Support Offered: Email Ticket System (Phone and Chat is Sales only)

Site5 is one of the most active web hosting companies as of late and by our estimate is growing quite quickily. They are known for their solid support and their great marketing ideas. Their unlimited domain and rapid reflext hosting has proven quite popular as well as their reseller plans. Before we moved to a dedicated server we had a shared plan with them and their support was amazing.

Problem with site5
Written by mjwest10, on 09-03-2007 14:25
I came across this forum as I was looking for a new host. Currently my host is site5.com . I havn't had any problem with them before, but I also only hosted a couple of sites that got very few hits. Now I have a site that gets about 2000 page impressions per day and uses a mySQL backend. The problem is over the last 8 days the site has gone down (due to high server load or having to restart mysql) at least 6 times. 4 of these times I got the server while it was down and filed a support ticket for it. Every time they restart mySQL or httpd and things start working again - then they tell me it was due to another user and that he has been suspended tell he fixes his script. My question is this - around 2000 page impressions doesn't seem supper huge to me. I am wondering if others have experienced problems with site5 recently (which I think is true based off of other sites here) and how I should try to find a hosting site that doesn't have these issues? I'd like to still have a shared hosting site that was around $10-$20 a month if possible, but maybe this is unrealistic for a good host.
Site5 - 2 year review
Written by ACcomunica, on 09-03-2007 14:23
It's good to be back here. 2 years ago I've found Site5 in one of these threads. I was having some issues with ResellerZoom and I was ready to pay more for hosting. I signed up for the RS-X Special for $22.99/month.

I've wrote some reviews here about Site5 in the past and this one is just a recap.

Support is not as good as it used to be but it is better than it was in the rough superhosting flashback times (They used to respond in 15 minutes, for some time it took hours and now it's back to 30-60 minutes).

Uptime on my server is great - 99.9% +

They do have new plans cheaper now but I'm still on one of the old servers paying more for less. The only complaint I have about my server is high loads from time to time when some user sends tons of e-mails. Sometimes we get blacklisted of course, and I already suggested Site5 to be more severe with spammers.

I would rate Site5 7.5/10. It's a decent host to me and I'm not planning to leave them so soon. My customers are happy and so am I.
